Reaching the high mesas, one can touch the magic in the sky. Climbing into the deep canyons, one can smell the bowels of the earth. Visiting the stoneage mind, one can understand how the roots become leaves.
I lived there in '80-'81 and visited once in '87. Lived in the cubes (maybe what you mean by "camping down in the canyon"), helped build the theatre, worked in the cafe, the greenhouse and the camp kitchen. I hear it is more like a (music) school now, with regular cultural events.
You were at arcosanti? I visited there a couple of times. The first time, in '74, there were a lot of people and it seemed like completion was within reach. My second visit was in '99, but it hadn't progressed that much in all these years, and most of the people were camping down in the canyon.
Hi!
